I was so minister by this poem...
Do take time to read and ponder it's meaning...

If I should quit, what would the gain be?
Would the battle be lost? Would I really be free?
No, the door would not close, nor the battle cease,
Because God would have another to stand in the breach,
if I quit.

If I should quit, what would I do?
Seek shelter from the heat, forget the cry of the lost?
Would I be happy for a time, then find I was through--
And spend my time praying for something to do,
saying, “God, why did I quit?”

If I should quit, I would find that God had not;
the battle would still rage, the church would march on.
The wind would keep blowing, the Spirit infilling,
Only I would be farther and farther behind, unwilling,
Wondering, “God, why did I quit?”

If I should quit, what could I say to God who called me,
and the people who sent me, and the pagan who trusted me
to show him the way? And the Spirit’s urging day after day?
God, I can’t quit!

If I should quit, let it be when I am dead--
Not while I’m alive, nor when I’m dissatisfied,
nor when I’m criticized, or minimized, or ostracized,
but please, God, let quitting time for me be-
When I am dead!

I haven't been writing in my blog for a long time... but I visited Evangel family church today and heard a msg by pastor Marion... Was really bless by it... So thought I share it with you... :)

The sermon is on The book of Nehemiah...
His love and commitment to God despite of all obstacles to fulfill his call from God...

7 keys to his success...

1) Our focus on God's call will keep us from compromise, from discouragement
The success of satan's attack always start from compromise of a Christian life
2) To be strong and courageous is not enough, we need strategy
3) Sacrifices and determination is necessary, to see successful results
We need to work while men sleep
4) trouble from the external is unavoidable, it is the internal that we must look after
Eg. Faithless pple with negative remarks
Before u build upwards, u need to firm ur foundation downwards. Prayer is the answer when we get tired.
5) our complete trust in God is displayed by our prayerful life.
To know successful a man is, is to see how they respond to crisis
6) history has proven God never failed to honor those who have the fear of God
7) admitting our problem is one thing, we need to rise up to do something.
Don't just sit and criticize, rise up and re-build... Be like Nehemiah, be bold enough to rise up and survey the ruins. Rise up and do something about it. Is our life is ruin? Rise up and do something about it.

Hey... super super stresses out with my school and work and church...
I've never had it so hard...

My work is really piling up and the economy is really not making anything easier... People are tense... taking more risk and on my side, there are more procedures and jobs to do... Give me a break... i'm literally working weekends too with my phone ringing... why does technology have to be so high tec? I even have to go to my company acct from home to work on weekends... this is so not what i sign up for... I hate my job... urghhhhh.... arghhhh... i wanna scream...

My school is crazy... it's assignments after assignments... i just completed my run of 4 TMAs in 12 days... now, i've to do another 3 more TMA in less than 2 weeks again... i haven't even had time to settle down and study anything yet... it's just assignments after each other... urghhhh.... and it's so tough... i don't even have time to think... i'm staying back during lunch to do them... I don't think i've ever worked my brains so hard... And after work, i still have to rush to school to attend class... after i come back, i'm already so so tired... but i need to spend time to do my assignments and talk to my parents too... i don't have time... huh....

Weekends are filled with camp stuff and RR... i really am feeling very very strain... To put on a mask every day... huh... i feel like taking it off and just show the ugly side of me... I hate myself so much now...

And weekends are my only time with Ber... i don't meet him at all during weekdays... because of his school... and mine as well... Even when we talk during weekdays, it's just 2-3 mins cause we're both either studying or at least for me... trying to shut off my minds for awhile and not have to feel and think about anything... to just sit in front of a box for maybe 30 mins before i sleep... exhaustion...To balance time for him when i need some for my own... it's... huh... i'm starting to wonder if i'm maybe better off alone... at least i won't be such a lousy and unsupportive gf... full of mood swings and emotionally driven... Ber needs someone who can stand by him... to help him and show a good example for the youth to follow... i used to think i can... but i feel myself drifting further and further... i can't seem to catch up with him anymore... He really souldn't have to worry about me... and not spending enough time with me... but i find myself always giving him problems and troubles... maybe it's not meant to be... maybe we're not trying hard enough... maybe i'm just to tired to think and feel anymore... Is it selfish of me? To be thinking for myself? to want some time for me? to want freedom and love? to want to feel fulfillment and achieve my dreams? to not want pple to tell me what i can and cannot do? Can i not lead my own life? I have lost my sense and direction... i can not see my future...

why can't i handle it better... why can't i be better... Ber says i knew what i was getting into when i sign up for my studies... i guess i did... so do i deserve it... where is the understanding? i guess i can't blame him... blame me blame me... just kill me...

Not going to update anymore... at least not till i've finish my semster... flooded with work...

First time ever, the YA (young adults) organised a valentines day dinner for the youths. :) Eric invited Qiuyi and i double invited her... so she finally came to spend that night with us... :)

my bro mc the event... lots of good compliments went his way... :)

I had to help to do the reception... wish i could have keeping Qiuyi company... but she was really understanding... anyway, once i was done with that duty, i got to spend the rest of the time with her... :)

We had dinner, played games... and got to know one another better... Haha...
I learnt 3 things that no one knows abt Qiuyi...

1) Qiuyi doesn't like to eat rice
2) Qiuyi sleep at least 8 hrs a day
3) Qiuyi sleeps with her little red dog that she has had since a kid...
(it's a doll) :p

She also won miss love fest... :) she wrote a statement abt abt our friendship... :)
Really touched my heart... :)

Indeed, there has been no looking back... :) Our friendship is something that God gave to me... like a susprised gift... i never thought i could meet such a good friend on the street thru EE... :) I can always count on you as well to talk to and just chit chat without shyness... :) I'm so blessed to have you in my life... with no regrets ever... :)

Qiuyi, u are no light bulb k? i really am very very very happy u came... u made the whole day so much happier and brighter for me... :) I'm no believer of V-day so the fact that u came, it's a celebration of our friendship love... :)

I don't actually believe in V day. I feel that u don't need a special day to tell someone you like them... anyday can be valentines day. And i feel that V day is just a gimmick for pple to shoot up prices to earn money... But... Ber bought me flowers this year... haha... ummm... if i say i not happy is bluff one... of course i'm happy... a bit embarass too... but next time no need la k? it's the heart that counts... :) know that u love me... :)

Me and Mel went to eat Thai express at Raffles City... :)
It's so easy, enjoyable and comforting to spend time with mel... guess when you really become very good friends with someone, you can let all ur guards down and just enjoy the moment... :)

Yummy... i really like the Prawn Toast... :)
yum yum... it's really nice, but it's a bit oily la...
The pineapple fried rice and the Phat Thai Talay was really nice too...
I'm really satisfied with the food... never fails to keep me satisfied and happy after eating... :)

Me, Eric and Ber went to eat steamboat near my work place... my goodness... it's the worst ever... i don't think i will ever go back... the service was okie... but the variety of food were little and they were not fresh... their fried food were cold and their wanton and dumplings were not nice... :/ never going back...
When we left, only then did i realised that the shop i wanted to bring ber and eric was just next door... we went to the wrong one... arghhhhh.... Eric says he will not have steamboat for the next 6 mths after this... i felt so horrible.. :(

Din Tai Feng

I went with my cousin, Mei lian on wednesday to go eat Din Tai Feng... :)
Yummy... their Dan dan mee, prawn pancake and xiaolong bao is really good... yummy... :)
I only sad they don't have the fried dumpling... so we settled for the steam dumplings... but they taste almost like the xiaolong bao... oh well...
I miss the fried dumpling me and Ber had in Thailand... wow... that was the best... :)

Had a good time talking to my cousin... haha... we even shared our most embarassing moments... hope to do this more often... when she is not so busy... and also hope to help her improve her relationship at home... but... :/ i also don't know how to help... :/

Every CNY, it's chinese custom to "Loh Hei".
It's a dish that has lots of different types of shredded vegetables, lime, sweet sauces, pepper, spices and most importantly raw fish. It's a dish that represents all our wishes for the year ahead and as we all stand up and mix the salad up, we shout out our wishes for the year ahead... :) This is one of my favorite dishes... yummy... when i think of CNY, i think of this dish... :) You can "Loh Hei" with your family, colleges and friends... :)

Today for the first time, i went to watch a movie with my bro... haha...
Not bad la... he is quite a good company... it didn't feel weird...
i hope he felt the same... :)

Anyway, we watch the movie "Milk". This movie in summary, is about gay rights, everyone regardless of their sexuality shld have equal rights. Harvey milk is the first openly gay to be elected into office. He was the supervisor of San Fransico then. He help to bring an end to the proposition 6, which was a new law which would ban pple who are gays to teach. I watch the movie with great interest and this is based on a true story.

I personally don't have a disapprovement towards gay people despite my religion.
I mean, i feel that this is not up to us to judge. It's God's judgement. We should just treat them as how we would treat everyone else. It's not for us to judge their lives. We can tell them what we may think is right and wrong, but ultimately, i think it's still their decision and whatever it is, we still should respect and love them. But that is my thinking. Everyone has rights to their own thoughts. :)

Anyway, i think Harvey Milk was a great man. He stood up for what he believed in. Not everyone could have done that. And like what Emile Hirsch who played Clives Jones said in an interview. He was no saint. But he was a great man who played a great significant part in America's history. He gave people hope.

After dating for 3 years plus, sometimes, the relationship can become a bit tiresome and monotonous... needed to feel that i was appreciated and needed. I mean i know he loves me... i have no doubt... and i love him... but i want romance in it... i dont want our relationship to just pass us by. No courtship. It's an experience, a process...
Think i'm starting to blabber... :(
Anyway, after me and ber again had a long talk abt this, he made an effort and ask me out on a date... :)
He brought me to a restaurant that i have been wanting to go to for sometime... :)
He actually remembered... :) I was happy... It's near GV Marina Square, It's called "Fin"
The food is good... :) I would give it 3.5 - 4/5 stars over all. The calamari was really nice... i love it... :)

(let me finish) i have change my mind... after watching America's got talent on TV with my mum, wow... they are amazing... watch for yourself... i would pay to watch them perform... they are great...

Today is CNY first day... family day. I stayed home all morning waiting for my relatives from my dad's side to come over. We had a good time eating CNY goodies, my dad's popular porridge and watching Chicken and Duck Talk 雞同鴨講... :) Well, my dad was kinda of wishing we could not spend soo much time watching but talk more to one another... So in the end, i am going to organise a BBQ in march for my whole family again so we can talk more... :)

After, i went to Bernard's side, we took quite a lot of photos hopefully his uncle will sent me, then i can post them... :)

Anyway, the reason for my post is not any of this... i met his sister today... i think the 3rd time in the 3 yrs i have been with ber... keke... she said something that today that well, made me think...

Blessing, she felt really bless to have met her bf in her church so she feels bless that both side are christians. :) So no pressure... i never really thought about it this way... i guess it is the same for me as well... I'm bless that Ber's family and my family have known each other for a long time in church. So not really pressurised or worried cause his parents literally have seen me grown up... keke... so yup yup... it is indeed a blessing... Thank you Lord... :)

This year, the youth did something different... We had our very first steamboat reunion... haha... wow... :)
The event was very successful, much to the help of the youth leaders who have plan from scatch... Thanks guys... it was really good... :)
I help design and decorated my very first CNY deco on the roof top where we were holding our steamboat... :) Thanks everyone especially grace, michelle for helping me put everything up and also meldred who help contributes to some of the ideas... :)

Christmas with Eric

Christmas time should be spent in the midst of love ones...
I'm lucky in my life to be surround by a loving family and great friends...
Especially this two guys... always there with a open ear and loving heart to hear and help me in my times of trouble.

On Christmas day, we went to Eric's house to cook and eat... :) Eric's favorite hobby and of course, for me to learn a bit of cooking from him... :)
Uncle Derrick came too but at a later time... :)
We cook, ate, talk abt Eric's love life (as usual, lots to talk abt... haha... just kidding) and we played WII (to lose the weight we just gain from all the food)... it was really fun and great... really enjoyed the time together... Even Uncle Derrick enjoyed the WII... :)

I wanna spent Christmas with my two best friends every year... can? Please....

Celebrating Christmas early with a bang...
Royal rangers had their christmas party on 21 Dec 08.
The theme was thanksgiving...
We gave thanks in everyway... to our friends, teachers, parents... and especially to God...
We made a thank you board to God
We wrote thank you notes to one another
We played games together... :)
And we gave thanks to one another by cooking a thank you meal... potluck... :)
Everyone contributed a dish and we all shared... :)

Thank you all for your contribution, the fun and love... :)
This would not have been possible if it was not for everyone's help and co-operation... Thank you once again...

Twilight

Me and Ber went to watch Twilight once it came out on 18 Dec. :)
The movie frankly, was a bit slow... but i have to say, it was still quite good...
And the books, terrific... awesome... full of suspense and trill... :)

I bought the whole series sometime back... but i didn't start reading... cause my friends were saying that if u read the book, then u watch the movie, u will be disappointed... like Harry potter. So i decided to watch the movie liao then read...

I really have to say, the book is really really really good... :) It's been only 10 days so far, but i have finish 3 of the 4 books... Highly recommended... :)

Go read... u won't regret... :)

Mummy and Daddy's 30th Anniversary...

Me and bro brought them out to celebrate... Fortune Restaruant near sixth avenue...
The food is not bad... but the service is not good... i didn't like it... but my parents enjoyed themselves... and i guess that is what really matters... :)

Thank God for bringing them together, for giving them so many good years together, for giving them my bro and me... in good and bad times, they have travelled this incredible journey together... I pray Lord that you give them many more good years ahead... with good health and lots of joy... :)

2nd day... :) went to get some more food for the BBQ... mainly the seafood stuff...
Then we went bowling... :) fun... :) Ber won Eric one match and Eric won the next... :) fair fair... :)

The guys continued on their WII while i napped and then we started to prep the food... and the BBQ awaiting the arrival of his family... :)

It was a fun night and everyone enjoyed themselves... :)

Ber's 21st birthday Chalet...

Okie... the last of my present for Ber's 21st birthday...
I booked a chalet a Pasir Ris Costa Sand... :)
It was a small group, just me, ber and Eric... :)

On the first day, before we did anything, we went to 85 Bedok north to eat...
Eric said the food here is really good... :) Hawker food... but all the same... great tasting... especially the minced pork noodles and the chicken wing... :)
Go try... it worth the travel... :)

Alright... This month is super super exciting... :)

I went Genting with Ber and his family... :) and i mean his FAMILY...
Grandma, Grandpa, mum, uncle, aunts, cousins...
boy oh boy was i nervous... hmmm.... i couldn't sleep the night before...
a restless night... s i was really tired the next day...
woke up at 6am and we set off up up and away...

Was in the same bus as Faydra... so adorable... :)
She really is the most independent baby i have met... :) in a good good way... so cute... :)

First stop - mushroom farm restraunt... Mel was telling me this place is a must go when u go genting... the food was actually really good... yummy... :p

I may be far from Singapore but the christmas feeling just follows... i saw this cookies at a breadshop display window... don't they look pretty? haha... :)

What's Genting with no cable car? we went to sit cable car down... and walked around a bit... we even entered a animal observatory... :) then we came up... so many pple... wow... everyone coming up to genting... :)

Fantasy, Romance and Fairy tales...

As much as i love fairy tales and romance, fantasy and adventure, i hate them... i watch movies and while watching, i feel magical but when i come out, i'm left feeling envious of what they have in the movie... is that normal?
I went to watch twilight today... the movie was okie... not as good as i was anticipating... luckily i have not read the book... if not, i think i would be feeling very disappointed...
My colleagues said that Bernard is boring... and even thou they said it in a joking way (i hope they were), it kinda hurt... i have learn to accept and love this man, who is funny and sweet... he may not be romantic or a knight in shining armor who comes and sweep me off my feet, but he makes me happy... and that is what matters to me... Do i wish that he is more romantic? or able to give me surprises that blows my mind? of course i do... which girl doesn't ... but the reality is, this fairy tales and fantasy will only last in movies... they are fiction and we live in a non-fiction world. A world of reality that will hurt u bad if u are not on guard...
Guys who are good looking, talk sweet and yet faithful, in my world, does not exist... Bernard may not be the best looking guy in the world... but he is funny, sweet and faithful... if he were romantic, he would be the perfect... :)

Alright... enough blogging... gonna start reading my serials of twilight books... :)

They had a beautiful wedding at traders hotel... they even had an MTV of how they met... haha... It was really funny and beautiful... :)

Well, in preparation for the wedding, me and my colleagues went to get our hair done... haha... for the first time, i straighten my hair... the straightener was so hot... it was a bit painful too... i was so scared... haha... so glad it's over... :)
Nice? They say i look nicer with my hair straighten... but i think too flat... don't like... oh well... :)

Yeah... Went to see High School Musical 3 on Sunday 26 Oct with Bernard... I have been so looking forward to this day... i have been watching trailers, the making of it for the past few days... Yeah... finally the day has come... i can't wait...

We went to eat Yoshinoya before hand. Quite nice... but i only like spicy beef... i find the rest quite dry lei... :)
But me and Ber were happy... get to spend time together... ever since i and Ber started school and my mummy came down with cancer, we only now meet each other on Sunday. No time on weekdays and Sat i need to pei my mummy... So just happy to spend a bit of time with him... :)

I went for my first YA outing today with the guys...
We went Mount Faber to hike...
Warning... get sufficient sleep before going...
I seriously under estimated the hike... slept at like 3am the night before and woke up at 7am to get there by 9am. Wa... really exhausted and my brain was screaming at me from inside... lucky alex gave me a lift as Dorena is teaching ballet at BP... :)

19 September... Final Day... Fifteen... :)

I'm so happy... i'm going home today... i can't wait to go back... i really can't wait... :)
But before i leave... i wanna go visit Fifteen... The restaurant open by Jaime Oliver to help give teen who have made a mistake in their life with drugs a second change in life to make things right. :)I really like and support what he does... if i had an idol... he would be it...

Okie... i know the photo of the food looks kinda gross, but it really taste very good... seriously... It's called Gnocchi with special italian sausage ragu and parmesan. The Gnocchi is like dumpling... alot less chewy and very soft and taste... it's really good... i don't like mint... but it made the taste so wholesome... excellent... :)

I have also seen this cafe "EAT" at a few area... their soup is always sold out... guess it must be realy good. I bought one... wow... it really taste good...

18 September - 2nd Last day... Buckingham Palace, Oxford Circus, Stomp

Seriously tired now... have been walking alot alot...
I really really miss home... I miss my mum... my family, Ber, Eric, Mel... my youth group... :( and i'm hungry... so sick of controlling my meal allowance cause everything is so ex... :(

But i'm really gonna try to enjoy this day...Still lots to Thank God for...
I went to Buckingham palace to see the changing of Guard today... Wow... really really alot of people... alot... and because the pple are so tall, most of the time, i'm taking the photo with my hands way up in the air... i just take and check if i got it and adjust my angle accordingly in the air and try again... my hands were aching especially with the video cameras... :p but it was nice... very grand...

Pls enjoy the video... i squeeze thru crowds and aching hands to take this... :)

After this, i went to it Cornish puff... MY dad says it's a must try... so... okie... i did... not bad... very big and filling 3.99 pounds... :) I had Chicken and Potato... i wish Ber was here... then he can try the pork with apple... i know... weird combo... but i heard it's nice too... :p

Okie... i give up... i'm so tired of saving money on food... spend last... last 2 day liao... I ate Fish and Chips... yummy... :)

Then i sent to watch STOMP... nice... really nice... very talented and innovative... :)

17 September - Roman Bath, Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehedge

Today is another tour day... :)

Yeah... 3 historical places in England... :)

First on the List Roman Bath... I think if my brother was here, he would really enjoy this... it's so so historical. It looks so old i'm afraid it might collapse or something if i touch them... i'm honored and really amazed at what i see...

okie. You might be thinking... what is roman bath doing in the middle of the England... there was a period of time where this part of England was under the roman rule... so they build this bath here... nice lei... :)

Okie... what are this pigs... in this town, they are doing an auction. You can bring one of this beautifully designed pigs homes... The money will be donated to Charity... :) isn't it nice...? Whenever art is used for a good purposes, it's the best... :)

Next up... Salisbury Cathedral...
It's really nice... but it's quite similar to St Paul's Cathedral... but i like the architectural... :) At least this cathedral allows taking of photo... St Paul's can't.

I saw this flower at the side of the road... isn't it nice? keke... God's wonderful creation... :)

Last stop before tour ends... Stonehedge... This is one of the wonders of the world.
I was listening to the audio guide. This was according to them build by cave man 6000 years ago... and they were talking about why this was build. Perhaps to honor a Sun God then or something and after elavorating for almost a whole half hours, they concluded with "I guess we will never know what they were actually thinking." I was like... what the... I only have one thing to say in reply... Thank God for your creation... Man will always be guessing until they find you. All questions will be answered... :)

After walking so much yesterday... i was really hurting from head to toe... i was really really exhausted... decided to sleep in...

I was really hungry... didn't have any dinner last night... sursprisingly, Mcdonald is not ex compare to the rest of the food here... only 2.99 pounds... yummy... :)

I went on to take the River cruise down thames river... :) It was really cold today... but i ta han... sit upstairs in the open... :)

A play was showing..."Midsummer night dream" i got the standing tickets... :)
The play was really really good... love it... i wish i could record it for you guys to watch... shakespherean language is really tough... but okie la... still can understand a bit... but i think if Ber were here, he would be lost... haha... :p

Like i say, it's a slow day... take things easy... very tired... by this time, my body is aching already...

Time for good meal... all i had all day is the mcdonald's meal... went to Coffee Bar at Pricadilly Circus to eat... Chicken Kebak... :) Nice... :)Maybe cause i'm hungry... haha... :p

Today is my Birthday... Yeah...
I've nv actually spent my birthday abroad before and alone some more...
I'm actually a bit sad la... I'm seriously seriously missing my Family... pray everyday for my mum... I do hope she is getting better... And of course Bernard, Mel, my friends... huh... the first thing i do when i go back is on my comp to check the e-mails they have sent me... Thank God for technology... :)
but, i don't wanna think abt that... lots to do today... lots to see...and lots to thank God for... :) I have nv walk so much in my life today... u will understand later... :)

I went to visit the Royal mews, This is where they keep their chariot where the kings, queens, princes, princesses, Duchess, Dukes, etc... ride when going to big events, weddings, parades... Really really nice... felt like a princess...just that i can't ride in it... haha... :)

After this, I went to Chelsea Stadium, It's quite out of the way had to travel to Zone 2... I got a bit lost but thank God found my way there... but the stadium was close as there was going to be a match tomorrow and the players were probably training... sad sad... i was really really looking forward to going in to see the stadium... so i guess i just walk around outside the stadium... boy! are the stuff there expensive... I guess i can take console in the fact that i will be watching a soccer match tonight at another stadium.... :)

This is as close as i got to the players... haha... :)

Okie... i really thought i would have spend more time at Chelsea stadium today... so when there was a change of plans, i was kinda lost not sure what to do... i wanted to go to the famous Rock & Roll Shop featuring lots of beattles stuff... So i went to Bakers Street... Guess what Sherlock holme's museum was there too... next to the Elvis Presley Store... The rock and roll store is opp the street...

I then when to St Paul Cathedral... haha... i mean no disrespect when i say this, but it seems like all cathedral are like graveyards... lots of tombs and memorials for the the different kings and generals and all the important pple... i didn't really like it... but i do like their windows... very nice... i decided to try their dare, to climb up all the way to the top of St Paul's Cathedral... there was more than 600 over steps... wa... it was really really tiring... but the view when u get up there, made it all worth it... :)

I walk pass Big Ben... Wow... the architecture... speechless... i have no idea what the person who was designing and building this was thinking.... amazing... :)I also saw the London Eye... really nice... :)

and last but not least, The Totterham vs Aston Villa game... :)
I met Dave and his son Daniel at Dirty Dicks Pub... I know i know... what kind of name is that... the silly thing is i had to find my way there from liverpool street station and i got lost... no idea how to get there... i had to ask for directions and i was so embarassed when i asked pple... i could seriously feel my face turning red... huh... i finally managed to find it... haha... it was a really really good game... a really AWESOME... the cheering, the screaming, the shouting, the cursing... everything u thought the games were, that is what it was... :) Thanks Gavin for helping me get the tickets for this games... :) IT was great... the best... :)

London - 1st free and easy day... Part 2

Okie... i found out there was a Thames Festival happening at Thames river near Tower of London. So i went there loh...

I went to visit the HMS Belfast, This is the vessel was used during the World War II... Interesting... found out how the people live in the vessel during that time and the machines that they used... quite nice... :) but i seriously think guys would like this more... or at least i think my bro would love it... :)

Then i went to visit the "Thames Festival"
This festival is actually to raise awareness on environmental polution...
It was really interesting... I even went into one of the tent that had a thank you board... Thanking God for the beautiful summer, and the environment and the world we have... it was really nice... also there was a relax corner... beautifully decorated... :)

Then i went to Tower of London castle... :)
Very nice... guess u just have to se it for yourself. Some of the kings and queen lived in this castle... The crown jewels used for the ordination of Kings and Queens and their crowns are here as well... it was really nice... :)

London - 1st free and easy day... Part1

I was so lost... no idea what to do...
I have 3 free and easy days and thou i roughly have an idea what i wanna do... i didn't put much into planning...

But of course before i do anything, it's a Sunday... what is more important than Church? i went to all souls church today... www.allsouls.org

They had their youth pastor preach... i was really ministered... and they had a band to play. All quite young... youth and some are children... when i say band, i mean band... volin, saxaphone... there was this boy, i think 9 or 10 only playing saxaphone... impressive... and their worship leader, is a co-ordinator... he doesn't lead worship... he just co-ordinate the songs the band play then the backup singer and the congregation sing together... it was really refreshing and nice... :) different feel la... :)

He preach abt the Parable of the lost penny & the lost son... Luke 15:8-31... abt how we as man would search high and low for a lost penny. and be overjoyed when we find it... that is the same with God... and he link it to the lost son... how he turn his life around and choose to go back to his father and start afresh... His father was overjoyed to see him... and how the other son, who had always work so hard and so much... but had a unforgiving heart, nv entered the house to celebrate and in the same way, nv entered the kingdom of God... He said that we are all sinners... and we need to turn our lifes around back to God... if we feel we are very good liao... serving and everything... that's where we are wrong... frankly, for me,i know i'm not clean and blameless or do i live a righteous life... but i want to change and i want to start afresh... today sitting in that church, with no expectancy of me to rush to do this and that, to just be able to sit and absorb and learn and be minstered... it really felt really refreshing and with no one around me... i really felt good... maybe this is what i need loh... a fresh start, a brand new start... i'm going to start from today praying abt this... and let God speak to me... :)

I went on a tour today... booked online at Viator... not bad... there were only 10 of us or so... so we took a small coach... :)

We went to Warwick Castle, Cotswold (Where Shakesphere was born), and Oxford University (Where harry potter was flim... )

I really enjoyed my time... it was really good... there is really alot to England History and stuff... i wish i knew more, then i can understand their jokes and stuff... did u know? France and UK don't get along? they are always fighting the the french pple don't like the british... neither does the british... alot of it has to do with history... but i nv learn in school la... Britain has alot of Kings and Queens of the past... lots of history... i might just go learn or read abt it sometime... see how... :)

I guess since i have time, i better start blogging here... by the time i get back to S'pore, i think i will be filled with my studies... with church... with work... i won't have time to blog liao... And also i want to put it in, while it's still fresh in my mind...

Really have alot to thank God for...

Firstly, for preserving my life... The plane ride here, nearly killed me... i watch like 4 movies... ate only 2 meals on board for the 13 hrs flight... My back and legs were killing me... it's like budget airlines... the space is so little... aiyo... nearly died... and i had to control my bladder... cause i sit inside... wish someone was there to talk to me and complain to... no one to talk to... there was this guy next to me... look chinese but very tao... so i also dare not talk to him... I made a little prayer as i arrive and thank God for preserving my life... safely on the ground again...

When i arrive at the London airport, i think i was seriously shocked... Just the fact of having Caucasians help and serve me was... my goodness... really weird... it has always been the ther way round... really not used to it... The immigration counter was really really far from where the plane landed... i felt like this is to exercise my legs... cause i've been sitting for 13 hrs... i think at least 600-800 metres... wa...

I manage to find my way to the bus stop, with a little help and i got to Brunnel University... Here, i said another little prayer and thank God for helping me get here...

Then, i was really lost... i forgot to bring all my letters to register for the course and my room... so the security also blur... they gave me a wrong room... It was seriously tough... i was dragging my super crazy heavy lauggage with my laptop all around the campus... when i finally got to the wrong room, i just sat on the bed and just thank God for it... i think for just that dragging alone, my hands have developed new muscles... :)

There i met this HK girl, Ema.. she was really nice and sweet too... All the canteens were close... so we order pizza together £8... free delivery... quite a nice dinner... :)
The next morning, i forgot to bring the schedule... so i went for class at 9.00am... and with some trumbling and panicking, i found out that it starts at 2.30pm... no canteen open... so i ate soup in a cup which i brought from s'pore... and maggi noodles for lunch... Then the admin told me they gave me the wrong room... and i had to shift room again to another place... like big adventure hor... keke... :)

The classes were very beneficual... the stuff that they teach, i know most of them... but it really help me to understand why i am doing, what i'm doing everyday. I met quite a few nice pple here... most are from europe side.. many are same as me, execusion and some traders and one nice broker... :) Made new friends here... :)

i go to sleep very early here... cause nothing to do, no internet in the room... i only got vcd and my school book... and the time lapse make me very tired... I'm in bed by 10pm london time which is 5am ...

On the last night, we had a dinner where all the girls dress up and all the guys wear suit and tie... wa... i've nv seen so many guys wear suit and tie... in S'pore we're nv this formal... so it was really cool... :)

Last day, i made my way to Victoria in Central London... On btw, Brunnel is in Zone 6of London. Victoria is in Zone 1... so it's super far... Yup... finish class at 12... reach london at 3... walked around and stuff... cause i waiting for joyce's friend to come back from work... at 7... so i walk around london first... i wanted to put my lauggage at the "left lauggage" area in the station, where they help to store ur lauggage while u walk around... it was freaking 6.50 pounds per lauggage... can u believe it...? so super ex la... i left my biggest bag there and walked around with my bag pack, laptop, and a bag of stuff... wa... i nearly died...feel like back in poly days... to save money, i walk from Victoria to leichester... and i got lost... wa... damn far... if i have nothing on me, i would think it's nothing... but... very tiring...

But i finally made my way to Joyce place thankfully after getting lost again cause i can't find their road signs... So Praise and Thank God i am finally here... :)

Thanks all you guys for all the love and concern you have shown my mum since the discovery of her cancer relapse last week... i mean i was really sad and in pieces when i first heard it from my dad... even thinking about it now makes me sad... but i guess we just have to dry our tears and get on with life... that is the way to it... And it was also the love and generousity of my friends and church members that really touched my heart...

Want to personally thank a few here,

Melody's dad, for donating the some medical drinks for my mum... i heard it cost alot and u delivered it up to my house too... wow... really really appreciate it... really bless by the action and love shown... i mean me and melody are like not even in the same church anymore, but she will always be my mentors, my friend. She is also one of the first few pple i msg was her once i knew... so i really from the bottom of my heart... thank you... thank God for all your love... God bless you and your family...

Mel, for being there for me as a listening ear and a shoulder for me... when i went back to the office the next day after the news broke, i was in tears... my face was so swollen and i couldn't stop the tears... i really wanted to stop... but u didn't ask abt it or anything... ur silence and love and support on the side was all i needed... to know i had a friend near me to catch me... :) and thanks for the medical drinks too.... i won't say how much... don't worry... but i really appreciate it... hugs and kisses... my friend forever... :)

Aunt Meiling, for your care and prayers... really touch me to know u cared... thanks for the cd and book... :)

Aunt Chia Choo... For helping staying with my mum during the kemo when my dad was still at work and i had to go back to work... :) God bless u... :)

And to all who has shown a concern for my family during this difficult time...

I'll be leaving for london this sat... and my mum has not recovered from her kemo yet... she can't eat nor drink much as she will just puke them out... so the medical drink hsn't been touch yet... cause it would be a waste if she puke it out... please do pray for her to get well soon... everyday... I'm really worried... Thanks guys and God bless... :)

Ber brought me to "changing Appetites" at Marina Square Basement for a birthday treat at my suggestion... The food was only so so la... i can only say, their theme of the whole restraunt seem to be cheese... to a point that me and Ber were really sick of it by the end of it... :/ but if u love cheese... go try... :)

But i have to give them credit for their desserts and mudpie... so... go try for yourself... :)

Did u know that there are some hidden food stores in Suntec...
Do you always go to the basement to eat when u go there?
Then u are missing out...

On the 3rd floor, where "toys r us" is, once u get there, ur nose will rock your stomach with the amazing fragrants of Tea egg... wow... really good... they taste great too... and the mochi is nice too... lots of flavor... go try la... i won't lie...

Did you know that there are quite a few food stores at level 1 where carrefour is?
If you are low on budget, go there... There are lots of nice food there... :)
I came across this shop when i walking with meldred there... actually mel was the one who notice it... it was actually egg tart... haha... just the look on her face make me laugh...keke... sorry mel... u know i love u la... :)

They have very unique egg tarts with curry chicken, blueberry, black pepper chicken... :)
Go taste and see for yourself if you like it... i think it's not bad... :)

As we walk to the end, we came across a famous brand but it was hidden... so not sure how many pple actually know it is there... it is "DON" they make the nicest chicken pie ever... my colleges all love it and we order our kwaylapis from there every chinese new year... Go try... i think it's good... :)

Of course, who could miss the "Taiwan Snack" famous for their chicken cutlet and Mee Sua... :) yummy... mel mixed before i got to take a photo of the mee sua... but what the h***" let's take it anyway... :)

I took a photo of this shop there... near "Don" the cakes they make are so unique and cute... sweet... :) if u get married or want to buy a nice cake for a birthday or whatever, i think this will be the shop... go check it out yourself... :)

To be frank, i have mix emotions abt going to London, It;s my first time there... and i'm alone and i am scared.... I've never been so far from home and not a person i know there... so even though it's a really blessed opportunity for me, I have mix emotions... But i trust God to keep me safe... and if i don't make it back (touch wood) I know he will look after my family... my love ones... and my friends...

I met up with Joyce, my dad's friend daughter whom i've known since young, but have not met for a few years liao... She is currently studying in UK and offered to allow me to stay at her place... but she won't be back till the day before i leave... so she met me to brief me abt london, what to expect and where her house is, so i can make my way there... Well, Thank God for her...
I have a better idea of where i am going... hope i don't get lost... haha... but she said getting lost is part of the experience... haha... so, i'm so going to immerse myself in it... :)

We went to Sushi Tei to eat... I just really like this place... It's ambience is really good and it's really comfy nd the food is good... This branch is st Raffles City... 4th floor... or 3rd... next to Precious thots and Food court... :)

This is really nice... when you bite into it, it's crispy and the spicy sauce on the outside touches your taste buds... yummy and delicious... It's one of my favorite... :)

Me and my family went to Batam for a short weekend trip organise by my company... It was really not bad... We stayed at the Holiday Inn, the hotel was okie la... the pool area is really nice... and we got to go bowling... it's my first time bowling with my family... :) We had a really good time... really glad... Keke... No surprised... His favorite show on ice... HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL...

It was really nice... i totally enjoyed it... I guess he did too and he kept singing their songs even after the show... :) There was lot see and the skaters really looked like the actors... It was really nice... if u missed it, u really odd to regret it... The pics are not very good as it was quite far from the stage.... i was like 2nd row but still quite hard to take... enjoy... And happy early birthday Ber... I hope you enjoyed it ... :)

The egg was very plain. The oyster was fresh thou... but not your traditional oyster egg. But if you wanna try something new, u can try this... but i won't order this again... :p

I've heard lots about this place from Meloday, Qiuyi and Eric... So are you kidding? Of course i'll go check it out... so highly recommended... keke... But i also heard it was quite ex... so i was prepared to spend at least $100 there... But surprisingly, it was not that bad...

This was good... The Yakitori was really nice...
I especially liked the long bean wrapped with bacon... WOW... Superb... :) The rice was covered with mince pork, Mushroom and seaweed... really nice... the ginger taste in the minced pork was just nice, and the mushroom was really nice... yummy... :)

We went to Esther's house last Sunday to celebrate her big TWO-ZERO...

We had steam-boat... some how, Ber liked the steam-boat... guess he just doesn't like to have it with me... sob sob... but anyway, we had her mum's infamous Ngiong-Heong (I hope i spelled it correctly) and the fish strip thingy... haha... i don't know what i was eating... but i can say, i was really nice... i was so hungry... by the time we finish, i stomach was blotted... keke...

We also had a cake from NYDC. Yummy... they just have the best cakes loh... keke...

And we bought Esther a bone shaped Laptop bag... hope she loves it... :) very colorful... :)

This week, Peach, Uncle Suragan's daughter came to visit...
We brought her to Tony Romas' to eat...
She is here on a trip for YFC (Youth For Christ) to get train in evangelism...

We started with Mushroom Soup... $6.90
Like every other mushroom soup... nothing special... i really wanted to have the french onion soup... but it wsa not available. Too bad... 3/5

We also had the appetizer sampler... $17.90
This consist of Mozzarella Stick, Potato Skins, Fire Wings with 3 different sauces.
I really like the mozzarella sticks... it tastes like pizza cheese with tomatoes... :) yummy... Potato skin is okie... a bit salty but the fire wings, my dad didn't like it... so overall i'll give it 3.5/5

For main course, we had Ocean Feast... $52.90
Nothing to rave abt... the prawn was alright... chewy and fresh... the calamari was not really nice, a bit too thick for me... but if u like it thick, u'll enjoy it... the fish was... okie... overall, 3/5

We of course had the baby back ribs with chicken combo... $28.90

It was good... i enjoyed the ribs tendered and soft... yummy... the chicken was nice too... very tender and sweet... nicely barbecued... 4/5

My conclusion about Tony Romas' Just go for the ribs... it's not worth for the rest... sorry... :/

Batam Recee Trip

Haha... nope i'm not going to tell you much abt our trip there... and it's not cfm that we'll be going there for our next church camp... we just went to see the hotel and the sites... we saw a good site there... but we'll go to malaysia to see the other hotels and sites there too... :)
I really thank God i got the chance to get to know Sonia (Siao Shi) more... keke... we talked alot during this trip... abt work, abt relationship, abt her hometown as well... hopefully will get to talk to her more in during our next trip to KL... :)

History Museum

After dinner, we went downstairs and saw them performing... They were singing the song "Hotel California" by the Eagles...
I really like this song... i think alot of pple had a misconception abt this song saying that it is satanic and stuff... so i went to research and this is what i found...

The song's lyrics describe the title establishment as a luxury resort where "you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave." On the surface, the song tells the tale of a weary traveler who becomes trapped in a nightmarish hotel that at first appeared inviting and tempting. The song is generally understood to be an allegory about hedonism and self-destruction in the Southern California music industry of the late 1970s; Don Henley called it "our interpretation of the high life in Los Angeles"[2] and later reiterated "[i]t's basically a song about the dark underbelly of the American dream and about excess in America, which is something we knew a lot about."[3]

During a July 17, 2008 appearance on The Howard Stern Show on Sirius Satellite Radio, Don Felder described the origins of the lyrics:

"Don Henley and Glen wrote most of the words. All of us kind of drove into LA at night. And he did... i wish he prepared a bit more thou, instead of making me walk around with him to search for the restraunt... :) But i'm still happy that he bothered to plan and draft the night out for the both of us... Wanted to try... but in the end, because of the long queue, we went some where else... But Ber made reservation... So... Yeah...
It's a French-Japanese Restraunt... :)

I really love the interior design of the restraunt... Very cosy, yet spacious... you know how it's like when a restraunt is famous and very busy, there is hardly space to walk and squeezy... but it was okie... lot's of space and it gave a really comfortable feeling... :)

Yummy... really yummy... :)

Snails... it was good... i hate to say this, but it was as good, if not better than Jack's place... :) chewy, bouncy and delicious... :) The sauce was great... 5/5

A few weeks ago, me and ber were at Long John and i really really wanted to have the clam chowder soup and he didn't allow me to... :(
but i'm glad i didn't now... :p it was really nice... we drank every last drop... :) 4.5/5

I was missing my dad's sausage that he always made on weekends and decided to have this... conclusion, i prefer my dad's... i was good... but nothing special... sorry... 3/5

This was quite highly recommended... i found it kinda weird to eat rice at a french restraunt... but since it was recommended, i thought i would try... I think... okie la... the butter rice was rice, the egg was okie and the beef was tender... overall, nothing to rave about la... Okie... :) - 3.5/5

Curry rice Japanese Style - $14.80
Bernard with the recommendaton of Eric had this... Not bad... the curry was nice... the chicken was tender... all in all, okie... 3.5/5

And this was our key to our bill... so cute right? haha... we had to present this to the counter to pay... so funny... all in all, i really enjoyed the meal, the ambience and everything else...
They don't only have rice... (it's just that we wanted to try...) they have steak and spagetti and all the other stuff too... Go try this restraunt... u won't regret it... :)
